Trade-in and buyback for WooCommerce stores
Customers value an old phone or laptop right on your WordPress site and see an estimate straight away. The request lands in your FastTradein workspace, where you inspect the device at intake, send a new price if needed, and record the payout. There is no FastTradein plugin to install: the widget is two lines of code.

What the customer sees
-
The customer values the device on the site
They pick a model and answer questions about its condition.
-
The calculator shows a preliminary estimate
The estimate uses your store prices and rules, together with the customer’s answers.
-
You inspect the device at intake
If the condition differs from what was stated, the customer gets a link to a new offer and can accept or decline it.
What your store gets
-
Your buyback prices
The widget prices each device from your price list and the customer’s answers about its condition. The catalog holds 990+ device configurations, and you can upload your own price table or import it from a link every night.
-
A new offer after inspection
If the device turns out worse than described, the customer gets a link to a new offer and accepts or declines it.
-
A handover record for every deal
The parties and the amount, the stated and the actual condition after inspection, and the IMEI or serial number if you entered it.
-
Payout or a store voucher
Pay by bank transfer or as credit toward a purchase. If you turn on store vouchers, the customer can choose a voucher with a bonus from 0 to 50%.
-
Trade-in at your counter too
The same prices apply in your store: an on-the-spot quote, a handover record, and a voucher with a printed receipt.
-
Requests in your CRM
On the Business and Pro plans requests go to your CRM through webhooks and can be exported to CSV.

Plugin or service
A trade-in plugin
- Runs inside WordPress on your server.
- Trade-ins usually become WooCommerce orders.
- You keep the plugin updated and check it against your theme and other plugins.
FastTradein
- Two lines of code on the page, nothing to install.
- We update the widget, and you never reinstall the code.
- Requests, handover records, and vouchers live in your workspace, on servers in Germany (EU).
- The same prices on your website and at the counter in your store.
A plugin suits a store that wants trade-ins as WooCommerce orders on its own server. FastTradein suits a store that would rather not maintain a plugin and also takes devices in at the counter.
How to add trade-in to WooCommerce

Copy the code and add your website
In the workspace, copy the code from the “Widget embed” page: two lines of HTML with your widget key.
Then open “Store settings” and enter your site address in the “Website” field. The widget only loads on allowed websites. If you need it on another address too, add it to “Websites where the widget works”. The number of websites depends on the plan: Starter 1, Business up to 5, Pro unlimited.
This is what the code from the workspace looks like. Your widget key replaces YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY.
<script src="https://fasttradein.app/widget/fasttradein.js" async data-no-optimize="1" data-no-defer="1"></script> <fasttradein-widget key="YOUR_PUBLIC_KEY" api="https://fasttradein.app" lang="en"></fasttradein-widget> -
Paste the code into a Custom HTML block
In the WordPress admin, open your trade-in page or create a new one. Add a Custom HTML block with the “+” button or type
/htmlon a new line.In WordPress 7 the block code is edited in the Edit HTML window with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript tabs. If the window does not open by itself, click Edit HTML in the block. Paste the whole code into the HTML tab, click Update, and save the page. The preview in that window says it is an editor preview: the widget works on the published page, so test it there.
Only a site administrator can save the
<script>line in the block, and on a WordPress multisite network only a super admin. If your pages use the classic editor or Elementor, pick an option from “Other ways to add the code”.
Edit HTML window of the Custom HTML block -
Check that the widget works
Open the published page and get a test estimate: choose a device and answer the questions about its condition.
On the “Widget embed” page of the workspace you will see a status showing that the widget works, with the site address and the time it last loaded. If the status is missing, see “Why does the widget not show on my site?”.
Published trade-in page on the test store, Twenty Twenty-Five theme. Where it says “Your store logo”, the widget shows your store’s logo or name.
Other ways to add the code
The steps above are for the WordPress block editor. If your site is set up differently, choose the option that fits.
Classic editor
In the classic editor (the Classic Editor plugin), paste the code on the Code tab, called Text in older WordPress versions. Save the page without switching to the Visual tab: Visual mode removes the widget tag, and the widget disappears from the page after saving.
If the page will be edited in Visual mode, add the code with a code snippet plugin such as WPCode. Create an HTML snippet inserted by shortcode and put the shortcode on the page.
Elementor
Add the Elementor HTML widget to the page and paste the code into the HTML Code field. The FastTradein widget works both in the Elementor preview and on the published page.
Multilingual sites
If your site runs in several languages, for example with Polylang or WPML, set the language of each page version in the lang attribute of the code: uk, ru, en, pl, de, or es. For any other language the widget shows in English.
Caching and optimization plugins
Autoptimize and WP Fastest Cache do not break the widget, even with script combining on. LiteSpeed Cache leaves the widget script alone too: the <script> line in the workspace code carries the data-no-optimize and data-no-defer attributes.
If your code does not have these attributes, copy the code from the workspace again. Otherwise LiteSpeed keeps its own copy of the widget script when it combines external scripts, so our updates never reach your site, and in Delayed mode the widget only appears after a scroll or a click. Clear the page cache after any change.

What to know about WooCommerce
- No WooCommerce orders are created: trade-in requests live in your FastTradein workspace.
- A FastTradein voucher code does not work in the WooCommerce cart by itself. To accept it at checkout, the store creates a coupon or sets up a balance extension separately and, once the setup is tested, marks this in the FastTradein settings. FastTradein does not create coupons.
- The widget shows amounts in the currency of your workspace, one per store.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a trade-in plugin for WooCommerce?
There are plugins that run trade-in inside WordPress as WooCommerce orders. FastTradein does not need one. The widget goes in as code: a Custom HTML block, the HTML widget in Elementor, or a line in the theme footer. A code snippet plugin only helps if your pages use the classic editor or you simply prefer it. See “Plugin or service” for how the two options differ.
Which devices can customers trade in?
Smartphones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches, headphones, and consoles. In Store settings you turn each type on or off, and you set the buyback prices.
Can I take devices in at my store too?
Yes, on every plan. The same prices apply at the counter: an on-the-spot quote, a handover record, and a payout or a voucher with a printed receipt.
Where do I put the widget code?
On a dedicated trade-in page or on any page that needs the calculator. On a product page, add the code to the product description, on the Code tab or with a code snippet plugin shortcode. The widget appears on the description tab.
Why does the widget not show on my site?
Check that the site address is on the “Store settings” page in FastTradein, that the page was not saved from the Visual tab of the classic editor, that no optimization plugin delays the widget script until a scroll or click, and that the page cache was cleared after your changes.
Will the widget fit my store theme?
Yes. The widget is a web component with its own styles, so theme CSS does not break its layout. We checked the Twenty Twenty-Five block theme and the classic Storefront theme. You set the widget colors and font in the workspace.
Will requests show up as WooCommerce orders?
No. Trade-in requests live in your FastTradein workspace. On the Business and Pro plans you can send them to your CRM through webhooks.
Does a FastTradein voucher work in the WooCommerce cart?
Only after you set it up. You can create a built-in WooCommerce coupon with the voucher code, but a one-off discount does not keep a balance. To spend the amount over several orders you need a separate balance extension and redemption tracking. Mark online acceptance in the FastTradein settings once that method is tested.
How much does trade-in for a WooCommerce store cost?
FastTradein takes no commission on deals. Monthly plans: Starter $29 with up to 50 widget requests, Business $99 with up to 300, Pro $199 with no request limit. The first 14 days are free, no card needed.
How can I see the widget before setting it up?
Open the demo and get a test estimate. On your site the widget works with your store’s prices and settings.
